Tukapa’s traditional Queen’s Birthday primary school seven-a-side rugby tournament has been cancelled because of soggy grounds. The tournament has been running since 1946 and has been called off only a handful of times in its history.
However, the weather forecast and ground conditions have conspired against organisers this year. The club had expected about 26 school teams to take part in the tournament. One team had been entered from the Bell Block area.
