Much of Taranaki’s sparkling new $80 million hospital will be on view to all during a public open day tomorrow, Saturday 8th June 2013. The Taranaki District Health Board has invited the community to come along to see the Taranaki Base Hospital redevelopment, called Project Maunga, before staff and patients move in. Tours will operate between 11am and 1.30pm. The community will get to see a part of the theatre suite including one operating theatre, the recovery unit, endoscopy and the day surgery area on the first level, the TSB Children and Young People’s Ward on level two and a surgical ward on level three. People attending the public open day should head to the Taranaki Base Hospital’s main entrance. Please note the site is still under construction but the The Taranaki District Health Board has been given the handover for the areas that will be open.
