Body of Bell Block shoot out Man Returned

Mr Adam Morehu’s body arrived at his marae while the police investigation into his fatal shooting continued yesterday, Tuesday 11th June 2013. Morehu’s coffin was driven to Waitara’s Owae Marae and was followed by a procession of family and friends. Morehu’s mother, Tania Bailey (Aunty Tarn), was sadly farewelled at the same marae in May 2013. A post mortem identified two fatal gunshot wounds to Morehu’s torso. Police had attempted to subdue Morehu with a Taser but it proved ineffective. http://www.bellblock.co.nz understands the Taser’s two electrified barbed probes that deliver a high-voltage shock to the target were not able to penetrate Morehu’s layers of clothing. A specialist police team from Wellington continued the scene examination yesterday concentrating on the area near the entrance to the golf course where Morehu’s body lay for more than 12 hours. The search combined the use of technology and old fashioned elbow grease with an officer using what appeared to be a metal detector while others were on their hands and knees combing through the grass. It was expected the scene examination would be completed today, Wednesday 12th June 2013.
