Bell Block Skiers are in for a treat this weekend as the Mt Egmont/Taranaki ski field has opened today, Friday 21st June 2013. The Manganui ski field and is the first to open in the North Island and people are already enjoying the slopes. Stratford Mountain Club report that the field had 25 – 30cms of snow and people should be able to ski all weekend. Always remember that anyone heading up to the skifield should wear good solid footwear, dress suitably and wear sunglasses.
