Even though Bell Block star Race Horse trainer John Wheeler was away in Brisbane, his staff were able to land him a winner. The 1.40pm Animal Health Direct Hawkes Bay Steeplechase over 4800m was Race 6 at the Hawkes Bay Races on Saturday 29th June 2013 which saw him line up Number 8, Riviera Star ridden expertly by Jumps Jockey Shaun Phelan. Winning by a comfortable 4-1/2 lengths and paying $7.70 to win and $2.30 a place.
