Police were last night, Thursday 11th July 2013 hunting for the culprits who are believed to have shone a laser at a plane heading into Bell Block’s New Plymouth Airport. The control tower alerted police about 7.45pm. Police said it appeared the green laser had been shone from the eastern side of the Waitara rivermouth. It was the third time in six months a plane heading for the Bell Block airport had reported being targeted by a laser.
