An Air New Zealand flight from Blenheim to Auckland was diverted to Bell Block’s New Plymouth airport around 7.30pm Sunday 4th August 2013 after the captain became unwell during the flight. The 14 passengers were transferred to another aircraft and continued on to Auckland, arriving at around 9pm. Air New Zealand so far did not comment on the status of the captain.
