Pets with quirky personalities are being sought for pin-up duties for the North Taranaki SPCA. They are asking for photographs of all sorts of animals to feature in the organisation’s 2014 calendar. Every photo entry will appear in the calendar, although 12 lucky pets will be named pet of the month.The judging criteria is based on originality and cuteness, with the SPCA striving to get different species for each pet of the month, such as farm animals. It costs $25 to enter your pet but the payoff is a free calendar. Last year’s calendar raised $5000 and the SPCA hopes to raise a similar amount from sales of this year’s edition. The 2014 calendar featuring the new recruits is due to go on sale in October 2013. Entry forms are available from the SPCA or from their Facebook page.
