Hundreds Bell Block voters will miss the Vote

Hundreds of Bell Block voters are running out of time to update their enrolment details ahead of local body elections in October 2013. About 2000 voter packs have been returned from within Taranaki to the Taranaki registrar of electors, Sandra Wood, who said those people would now be removed from the roll. Ms Wood said people who had changed address now had only until August 16th 2013 to update their details, which they were legally required to do. “It is really important to have a vote. Please update your details as soon as possible,” she said. At the start of July 2013, the Electoral Commission sent out 3.1 million electoral packs. About 70,000 were returned nationwide. Ms Woods said people could update their details much more easily than in the past via the internet, by telephone or at any post office. People who have moved house and want to update their electoral details can do so online at elections.org.nz, by visiting a post office, by free-texting 3676, or by telephoning 0800 36 76 56.
