Things don’t come much uglier for the Tenderlink Taranaki Rugby Team than they did in Christchurch last night, Friday 16th August 2013. Facing five-time defending champions Canterbury in their own backyard, with the youngest ever Taranaki Rugby team in 127 years it was always going to be a tough ask to leave AMI Stadium with competition points. Sadly, Taranaki didn’t manage it right from the opening whistle and unsurprisingly were well beaten 30-6. Canterbury 30 (Patrick Osborne, Matt Todd, Luke Katene, Adam Whitelock tries; Tyler Bleyendaal 2 con, 2 pen) Taranaki 6 (Andre Taylor 2 pen). HT: 15-6.
