Twelve objections have been received opposing the Big Basket grocery store’s off-licence application. The Bell Block store lodged it’s application with the New Plymouth District Council in July 2013 with the hope of selling alcohol from 7am – 10pm, seven days a week. (we say, Those hours seem a bit long). Now the New Plymouth District Council assess the objections, then they will advise what further action is needed. (we also note that if the Big Basket grocery store’s off-licence application is successful, it only brings the amount of stores selling alcohol in Bell Block, up to the same level as before.
