Close to 1000 Bell Block resident’s went along tonight, Sunday 15th December 2013 to the fun-filled family celebration for the 2013 Christmas at the Bowl. It is an event for the community by the community and something that everyone can afford to do with their family to celebrate the festive season. Dubbed Taranaki’s biggest variety show of the year, it boasted lots of local talent and a massive fireworks display. Pre-show entertainment started at 7pm, with Christmas at the Bowl beginning at 8pm. The excellent Devon Hotel New Plymouth Brass Band were at there best, but a Skinny Santa flopped and a host of Taranaki entertainers tried to delight the audience, but the only act to get the crowd going was Zumba. The approx 10,000 crowd loved the Zumba Music and Dance. Then around 9.30pm, the crowd sat back, gazed skywards and enjoyed the longer than normal Christmas at the Bowl Fireworks Spectacular.
