Ice Cream Van smashed by Cricket Ball hit for a six

In an Entertaining, if not one sided ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Qualifying game held at Pukekura Park, New Plymouth today, Monday 13th January 2014, Papua New Guinea give a poor Kenya side a lesson in one day cricket. One of the games highlight’s was a 6 hit by Lega Siaka the reach his 100 runs. The added Drama to this shot was that the ball smashed a back window of the ice cream truck of Mr Dave Hancock. The ball missed his front windscreen and entered through the side of his van and smashed his rear window. It has been said Mr Hancock dropped his hundreds and thousands he was putting on a ice cream at the time. The other notable aspect of the day was the very poor turnout from the Taranaki Public in what was a excellent International sporting event for free in the school holidays. By the end of this week we have another 2 games, so it is hoped the crowds are larger at the next 2 games. It was good cricket in a World Class Venue.
