Wiremu Vincent Thompson Family Mourn Bell Block Accident Victim

Wiremu Thompson’s father says he prayed the police had got the wrong man when they came calling at the weekend. Mr Thompson was hit and killed by an alleged drunk driver outside Big Jim’s Garden Centre, on State Highway 3, about 5am on Sunday, 2nd February 2014 while walking home to Bell Block from Waitara. Family and friends visited the scene, which was also blessed by Reverend Albie Martin, yesterday,Monday 3rd February 2014. Mr Thompson had recently got a job at the Tegel Factory in Bell Block and it is said Mr Thompson had recently attended Army Training for a number of months and was turning his life around and had a bright future. He would of loved to of joined the Police or go into the Army. A 37-year-old woman will appear in the New Plymouth District Court tomorrow, Wednesday 5th February 2014 charged with drink-driving causing death.
