The Taranaki Track Cycling Championships are back. After a break of 15 years, the championships have been reinstated and are running today, Thursday 6th February 2014 at the velodrome at Bell Block’s Hickford Park. The championships are catering for a variety of riders and are likely to feature time trial, pursuit, scratch and points races. Riders from the Hawera, Stratford and New Plymouth clubs are represented. A number of the elite riders are likely to use todays Taranaki champs as a final warm-up for the Night of the Stars meet in Whanganui on Saturday 8th February 2014 and the West Coast North Island Championships the next day.
