10am -12.30am on Saturday March 1st saw Bell Block’s Contestant in the 2014 Miss Taranaki Contest deliver their 10 Second speeches on their sponsors. In Bell Block’s case the Sponsors were the Bell Block and District Lions Club. Tawny Smith (blue T-Shirt ) said the following in her 10 second speech…. ‘I am proud to be sponsored by the Bell Block and District’s Lions Club. They were formed 42 years ago, have both Men and Women members and are part of Lions Clubs International’. The stage was set up at the AMERICARNA Festival within the street closure between Liardet and Devon Street. The girls were all dressed in their American themed outfits, and had to speak in front of hundreds of people. For some of the girls it was very tough to be in front of such a large group of people.
