Royals arrive in NZ, but won’t visit Bell Block

Prince William, Kate and baby George have landed safely in Wellington, today Monday 7th April 2014, albeit slightly late. The royals were due to land in Wellington around 11:45am, but thick fog which covered the capital delayed the arrival of their New Zealand Air Force plane until 12:05pm. Prince George made an appearance in a woolly jumper, while Kate wore a red hat and jacket – complete with a silver fern pin – and Prince William wore a navy-coloured suit. They had changed completely from the clothes they were seen in during their brief stop in Sydney. After stepping off the plane the trio were greeted by Prime Minister John Key and wife Bronagh, Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown and husband Alistair Nicholson as well as the Governor-General’s representative Commander Richard Walker, before being driven to Government House. Public were not allowed into the airport and were forced to brave the weather for a glimpse of the royals as they drove around Wellington’s bays.
