Bell Block Roads are Quiet over Easter Period

There were no deaths on Taranaki or Bell Block roads, but with four deaths on New Zealand roads this long 2014 Easter weekend show Kiwis are still making the same mistakes about intoxication, inattention and impatience. The total is the highest over Easter since 2011, when five people were killed. Last year, three people died on the New Zealand roads over the same period, while in 2012 there were no deaths. The bad weather, which swept down the country on Thursday and Friday, was thought to be behind a spate of crashes in the upper North Island before the holiday period began at 4pm on Thursday 17th April 2014. The official period ended at 6am this morning, Tuesday 22nd April 2014. Police would be enforcing the reduced speed tolerance until April 28, the end of the Anzac Day weekend. Until then, police would allow a tolerance of just 4kmh.
