From 5pm till 8pm on Friday May 2nd and 9am till 4pm on Saturday May 3rd 2014, thousands of books, puzzles, DVDs and CDs will be for sale at the Fred Tucker Memorial Hall on Parklands Avenue, Bell Block. Club member Karen Betts said all money raised will go towards the North Taranaki Touched by Suicide Support Group. ‘‘Suicide has touched our young ones from Bell Block,’’ she said. ‘‘We’ll support anything to do with Bell Block before we go New Zealand wide.’’ This is the first time the club has held a book fair, an idea Betts brought when she came from the Hawera Mount View Lions Club. After putting an advertisement in the Midweek seeking book donations, club members have been busy sorting them since the start of the year. ‘‘It’s got bigger than what we thought.
