3rd Shock Rugby Result in 7 Days…This time it is Port Taranaki Bulls Victory over Canterbury

Just when we all thought nothing further could shock Bell Block Rugby Fans after the shock results coming out of the 2015 Rugby World Cup The Port Taranaki Bulls got their tactics spot on against competition leaders Canterbury in Sunday’s 27th September 2015 national provincial championship match in Christchurch. Faced with trying to snatch Taranaki’s first win in Christchurch since 1962, and first ever since the NPC began, the Port Taranaki Bulls played their best match of season to break the duck with a 24-21 win. Their effort was even more shocking given the fact they were missing the likes of James Marshall, James Broadhurst, Jamison Gibson-Park and Marty McKenzie Taranaki were also not helped by the late withdrawal of captain Charlie Ngatai who failed to get over the concussion he suffered after being the victim of foul play last week against Waikato. TARANAKI 24 (Berny Hall, Kurt Baker, Blade Thomson tries; Codey Rei 3 con, pen) CANTERBURY 21 (Johnny McNicholl, Marshall Suckling tries; Tom Taylor con, 3 pen). High Time: 17-13.
