Bell Block Buses to get eight cameras each

Citylink buses in Bell Block will soon be bristling with up to eight video cameras each. Eleven buses that service Waitara, Bell Block New Plymouth and Oakura are to have video cameras installed – three on the outside and five inside. The cameras will be installed on November 1 2015 as part of a new contract between the Taranaki Regional Council and bus service provider Tranzit. The camera recordings would be monitored, saved and reviewed by Tranzit if there was an incident.
Under NZ Transport Agency requirements, all public buses must have at least three video cameras on board.
