Early Morning on Wednesday 23rd March 2016 in damp overcast conditions saw the Minister for Transport Simon Bridges, Mayor Andrew Judd and New Plymouth/Bell Block MP Jonathan Young (who had just arrived back from London) officially opening the Mangati Walkway in Bell Block. A reasonable number of the public also turned out as well as school children from the local schools. Reverend Albert (Albie) Martin blessed the opening of the new walkway, in fine style as he has blessed a number of new projects in Bell Block recently. The Minister for Transport Simon Bridges turned up with no tie on, much to the delight of NPDC Councillor Murray Chong who was also in attendance without a tie. All and all this was another step forward for Bell Block.
